Our Caribbean villa sits steps away from Virgin Islands National Park, offering direct access to some of the Atlantic’s most pristine snorkeling and hiking destinations. But the real magic happens when you venture beyond the villa’s gates.
Trunk Bay Underwater Trail is the obvious choice—and for good reason. Marked buoys guide you through 650 meters of reef populated by parrotfish, angelfish, and if you’re lucky, sea turtles. Arrive early (before 10 a.m.) to avoid the cruise ship crowds.
For hiking, the Reef Bay Trail descends through tropical dry forest to a secluded beach and historic sugar plantation ruins. It’s a 2-mile loop, moderate difficulty, and offers a rare glimpse into the islands’ colonial history. Many of our guests pair this with a visit to the petroglyphs at Annaberg Sugar Plantation—a quieter, more contemplative experience.
In Coral World, the local town, visit the open-air markets on Saturday mornings. Fresh mango, local spices, and handmade crafts from island vendors. Grab lunch at a casual beachside spot and watch fishermen bring in their catch.
The best way to explore this destination is on your own schedule. Check availability at Blue Horizon’s Virgin Islands villa and spend a week doing what locals do—a little adventure, a lot of relaxation.
